Coins

The rest of the money went to the Roman Government. For these two reasons tax collectors were very unpopular (see Judas Iscariot for image of stack of coins).
  • This part of Zacchaeus' story is found in Luke, chapter 19, verses 1 to 2.
  • Coins are also found in the stories of Joseph's sale to slave traders, the parable of the woman who lost a coin and Judas' betrayal of Jesus.
