Rachel & Leah

  • Rachel was Laban's daughter and worked as a shepherdess. She first met her husband, Jacob, when she took her dad's sheep to the well for water. Jacob fell in love with Rachel and he asked her dad if he could marry her.
  • This part of Rachel's and Leah's story is found in Genesis, chapter 29, verses 10 to 20.

Wedding feast

  • Jacob agreed to work under contract to Laban for seven years so he could marry Rachel. On the wedding day, the bride's face was covered by a veil and Jacob was tricked into marrying Rachel's older sister, Leah. He was later allowed to marry Rachel as well but had to agree to work for another seven years (see Sarah for image of meat, see Zacchaeus for image of bread and wine).
  • This part of Rachel's and Leah's story is found in Genesis, chapter 29, verses 16 to 30.
  • Wedding feasts are also found in the stories of Jesus' first miracle at Cana and the parable of the wise and foolish girls.
  • Wedding feasts do not appear in any Lootro games yet but watch this space for news.

Camel

  • Jacob realised that his father-in-law had cheated him out of lots of money so he decided to leave Laban and return with his wives to his father, Isaac. Rachel took her dad's household idols because she had no money and hid them in the camel's saddle. These idols were small statues that people prayed to.
  • This part of Rachel's and Leah's story is found in Genesis, chapter 31, verses14 to 43.
  • Camels are also found in the stories of Rebecca's arrival at the well, John the Baptist's rough clothes and Jesus' comparison to a rich man.

Coat

  • Leah and Jacob had six sons and a daughter. For years, Leah cruelly teased Rachel about not having any children. Later, Rachel and Jacob had two boys together but Rachel sadly died giving birth to their youngest son, Benjamin. The oldest, Joseph, was his dad's favourite and Jacob gave him a special gift of a coloured coat.
