Jesus

  • As Jesus traveled around the towns and countryside, he talked to people about God. He healed the sick, restored sight to the blind and made the lame walk again. He even raised the dead. He gathered twelve special workers, called disciples, from among his followers to help in his ministry.
  • The story of Jesus is found throughout the four Gospels at the start of the New Testament in the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.
  • Jesus appears in all our Lootro games.

Baptism

  • One day, Jesus met his cousin John who was baptising people in the River Jordan. Jesus asked John to baptise him. As Jesus came out of the water, the sky opened, a dove flew down and God spoke to the crowd on the river bank.
  • This part of Jesus' story is found in Matthew, chapter 3, verses 13 to 17.
  • Rivers are also found in the stories of the Plagues of Egypt, Moses parting the Red Sea, Joshua crossing the River Jordan, Naaman bathing and Lydia washing her clothes.
  • Rivers don't appear in any Lootro games yet but watch this space for news.

Bread and wine

  • While Jesus and his disciples were in the upper room of a house in Jerusalem celebrating the feast of Passover, he passed round bread and wine. Jesus explained that he would soon be killed and the bread and wine represented his body and blood. This special final meal is known as the last supper. When we share bread and wine together we are remembering Jesus' sacrifice for us.
  • This part of Jesus' story is found in Mark, chapter 14, verses 12 to 26.
  • Special meals are also found in the stories of Abraham's visit from three strangers, the feeding of the 5,000, the parable of the lost son's return and Cleopas' journey hone to Emmaus.

Cross

  • After Jesus' trial, he was beaten and forced to carry a large wooden cross through the streets. Outside the city walls, he was nailed to the cross between two thieves. This type of cruel death is known as crucifixion. After Jesus died, his body was taken own by his followers and placed in a tomb. Three days later, he rose from the dead. 
  • This part of Jesus' story is found in John, chapter 19:16-42.
  • The cross is also found in the story of Simon of Cyrene's visit to Jerusalem and the final discussion between the two thieves and Jesus.
  • The cross appears in our Scramble and 2by2 games.
