Esther

  • Esther is the heroine of the book of Esther. She was picked when the king called for a nationwide beauty pageant to find an attractive new queen; but Esther was beautiful in nature as well as looks. 
  • This part of Esther's story is found in Esther, chapter 1, verse 19 to chapter 2, verse 18.
  • Esther appears in our Babble.on, Scramble and Bible Belles games, and would be a great answer in our Ballyhoo! game.

Crown

  • King Xerxes (or Ahaseurus) was angry with his wife, Queen Vashti, when she stood up to his bullying demands to appear before him and his friends for their entertainment. She was deposed for disobeying and had her crown removed.
  • This part of Esther's story is found in Esther, chapter 1, verses 1 to 19.
  • Crowns are found in the stories of David receiving the crown after Saul died on battle and the crown of thorns forced on Jesus' head by the Roman soldiers. 
  • Crowns appear in our Scramble game.

Medallion

  • Mordecai was orphan Esther's cousin and acted as her guardian after her parents died. He was a loyal and honest man who rose to become the king's chief advisor (or vizier) over Persia. 
  • This part of Esther's story is found in Esther, chapter 2, verses 5 to 7 and chapter 10, verses 1 to 3.
  • Honest advisors and governors, along with their special uniforms, are found in the stories of Joseph's position in Potiphar's house, Joseph's governance for Pharaoh and Daniel's work for kings Nebuchadnezzar, Belshazzar, Cyrus and Darius.
  • Medallions don't appear in any Lootro games yet.

Rope

  • Evil royal advisor Haman was jealous of his rival Mordecai. He plotted to kill Mordecai and all the Jews. Brave Esther revealed the plot to the king who was furious at being lied to by Haman. He ordered Haman to be hanged on the gallows he had built for Mordecai. 
  • This part of Esther's story is found in Esther, chapter 7, verses 4 to 10.
  • Ropes are also found in the stories of Rahab and the spies, Samson tricking Delilah about the source of his strength Judah's guilt-ridden death.
